We are thrilled that two of the cargobikes we sell, the G4e from Douze Cycles and Bakfiets Long won the Best Cargo Bike Competition in the Business (G4e) and Family (Bakfiets Long) category. We have known for some times that these were awesome cargobikes but it’s always nice to see a panel of experts agreeing with us!
The competition was organised by Transport for London and took place in July at the London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
Sixteen cargo bike models from ten manufacturers were showcased at the competition which were put forward by retailers and manufacturers.

Eight judges – including London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner Will Norman and representatives from Mothercare, Sustrans, community cycling groups and family cycling bloggers – assessed each bike. Parents and children as well as one teddy bear, also assessed the bikes on a course at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The cargobikes were judged against criteria such as affordability, comfort, security, style, capacity and manoeuvrability.
Douze’s G4e bike won the Best Cargo Bike – Business category. Judges were particularly impressed with the model’s manoeuvrability and comfort and the bike also scored highly across the other judging criteria.
Commenting on the news, Douze Cycle say: “The G4 possesses all of the assets to become your favourite vehicle and is a true alternative to a car. The Bicicapace Pelican and JustLong, which we also stock, came in the top three for both the Business and Family categories. Both bikes have been awarded the status of Highly Commended by our judges.
The Bakfiets Long won the Best Cargo Bike – Families category. The bike scored highly for its affordability and judges were also impressed by the bike’s ease of use. Bicicapace Justlong and Bakfiets Short were also highly regarded in this category.
