For Immediate Release:
London Green Cycles partners with Hackney council to get London businesses using cargo bikes.
The initiative based in Shoreditch, called the Zero Emissions Network (ZEN) , will officially launch on 17 July, and offers businesses the opportunity to trial both cargo bikes and low emission electric vehicles and aims to tackle poor air quality which has been linked to more than 4,000 premature deaths in London each year.
Since its shop launch in May this year, London Green Cycles has been busy working with councils to develop their own Cargo Bike Business Trial projects.
With London’s mayor making cycling a priority and more people than ever are commuting by bike the timing could not be more perfect to encourage business owners to consider cycle logistics as an alternative.
Andrew Gilligan, the mayor’s Cycling Czar gave his support to the cargo bike trials projects saying, “Enabling businesses to try a cycling alternative for their logistics is a great idea that compliments the work of TfL and is in line our future vision of London. I’m pleased to see councils actively trying to encourage greener more cost effective practices like cargo bike trials.
