A start-up and a cargo bike tackling eating habits and climate change in Switzerland
Swiss start-ups are changing the nation’s eating habits by promoting local and seasonal food while staying away from food grown in greenhouses says Swiss Info news outlet. Zum Guten Heinrich is doing exactly that. Started by three friends at university, the adventure is now a full time commitment and growing. The group is even looking for funding to buy a second cargobike, so great is the food surplus. They are collecting excess fruits and vegetables from local farms, use them in meals devised by a professional food waste chef and deliver them to Zurich city workers with a cargo bike.

Cyclists in Paris allowed to ride through red traffic lights
A trial started in 2012 in the North East of the French capital showed promising results with an increased fluidity in traffic and no more road incidents. According to a report published by Paris local authority, the pilot showed that it in fact the scheme eliminated conflict between riders and road users with a blind spot. The scheme has now been extended across the capital where a specific sign is displayed and is currently trialled in several other French cities.
In London, a similar proposal was suggested five years ago however it never took off.
